This blog is dedicated to Penny Lynn Cherry. She passed away on Wednesday November 7, 2007 at 6:37 AM from complications of congestive heart failure. This blog is an open forum for family and friends to post their thoughts about Penny. We would also appreciate pictures and stories, both touching and funny.

Penny's Obituary
Penny Lynn Cherry, 57, died November 7, 2007 surrounded by her loving family.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, November 12, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1655 Noreen Dr. in San Jose, preceded by a viewing from 9:00 to 9:45 am.
Penny was born June 30, 1950 in Walla Walla, WA to Ronald and Jean Hallmark. She married J. Steven Cherry, the love of her life, on August 26, 1972 in the Oakland Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Penny was a resident of San Jose for 31 years where she and her husband, Steve, raised their four children. She was a warm and loving woman with the gift of making everyone she met a friend. Penny’s greatest joys were her faith, her family, and music.
She was a devoted member of her church and served as choir director for both adults and children, Cub Scout Leader, President of the children’s Primary organization, and teacher.
She was active in her community, sang with the Santa Clara Chorale for over 20 years, and directed the Noddin Elementary School Chorus for 14 years.
Penny is survived by her husband and their four children, Kristin C. (Jason) Fletcher, John J. (Christy) Cherry, Michael S. (Natalie) Cherry, and Tracy L. (Edward) Haws; 10 grandchildren; her father; her siblings Bruce Hallmark, Samantha Seals, Robert Hallmark, Theresa Felt, and Alan Hallmark. She was preceded in death by her mother.
To Honor and Celebrate Penny's Life donations may be sent to the following who cared for her during her illness.
