Thoughts from Joe & Julie Lindsey

As personalities go, Penny was extremely outgoing and talented. It was just fun to be around her. There is a group of "older" couples in the ward who periodically get together for a game night; typically dominoes. We were playing Mexican Train on one of those nights. Penny was there on her scooter and having a grand time. Everyone but Penny was there to play. She was there to have fun and tell stories. She kiddingly told us we needed to lighten up. She proceeded to tell us stories about her adventures on her scooter... like when she inadvertently bounced it down the stairs while she was on it at Stanford Hospital. We kept having to remind here when it was her turn. She would laugh at her not being able to concentrate and then tell more stories. Who knows or cares who really won the game that night. The best part was that Penny was having a wonderful time and enjoying life in spite of her situation. Her love for life brightened an otherwise droll night.

We love you, Penny. Prepare a place for us all to come see you again.

I don't know why but perhaps this would be something that Penny would
enjoy in her blog.

Have you ever played "Tillie from Walla Walla"? If you haven't, here
are some clues:
- Tillie doesn't like lambs but she loves sheep
- She won't own a pair of skis but she adores skiing
- She grows berries in her garden but not fruit
- No gloves allowed on her hands; only mittens

Now it occurred to me that Penny Lynn Hallmark Cherry from Walla
Walla would be Tillie's best and most ideal friend but she could
never figure out why Penny married Steven and named her children
Kristin, John, Michael, and Tracy.
